Corrections and Limitations

Hank Aaron’s regular-season career now includes the two 1959 National League tiebreaker games: 3,298 games and 3,771 hits. Perfect-game scope now explicitly includes Don Larsen and Reuben Curry. Current-season games are deduplicated by official game ID, including resumed games. Immaculate innings require one pitcher. Final recaps exclude unfinished watches. Retired managers’ ejections have been removed from their former player records. Ballpark labels were replaced with Retrosheet’s published table, correcting the swapped New York park names. Steals of home now identify the scoring runner. Four-strikeout innings require one pitcher. Three-pitch innings now require fully recorded pitch data; missing pitches cannot count as zero. Their comparison window begins in 1988 and excludes games with incomplete pitch records.

The main corpus begins in 1897. Play-by-play, pitch-sequence and Statcast coverage begin later and vary in completeness. Negro League records are included where MLB-recognized major-league records are available. Some current-season rows do not yet have a Retrosheet game identifier or ballpark join.

Non-perfect single-pitcher no-hitters, perfect games, and combined no-hitters are separate categories. The perfect-game corpus includes postseason play and Reuben Curry; the two 1880 perfect games precede its coverage.
